Abstract : A Lockheed Super Constellation was fitted with airborne oceanographic sensors for measuring sea surface temperature, temperature at depth, and gravity waves. Surface temperature varying from -2 degrees to 35 C is determined from measurement of 8- to 13- micron infrared radiation.

The game of two cars defined by Rufus Isaacs is visualized here in terms of missile avoidance by an aircraft. With the system dynamics specified and confined to the horizontal plane, the distinctiveness between Isaacs' original problem and ours lies not only in the choice of parameters, but in the choice of assigned player rationale as well.

Analysis of observed aircraft-to-aircraft separations
2008 Integrated Communications, Navigation and Surveillance Conference, 2008As air traffic demand continues to increase in the coming years, the need for concepts, procedures and tools that can improve airspace efficiency will likewise increase. Reduction of terminal and en-route separation minima has been the focus of many of the concepts and emerging technologies developed to respond to this need.

The Operation of Naval Aircraft and Aircraft Carriers
The Journal of the Royal Aeronautical Society, 1959The title of this lecture is “The Operation of Naval Aircraft and Aircraft Carriers”, but its sub-title should be “New Aircraft into Old Carriers”, because I am going to talk about just one phase of the Aircraft and Carrier problem: that of converting our wartime designed Carriers so that they can operate our new Aircraft coming into service ...
