Biofluiddynamic scaling of flapping, spinning and translating fins and wings [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Organisms that swim or fly with fins or wings physically interact with the surrounding water and air. The interactions are governed by the morphology and kinematics of the locomotory system that form boundary conditions to the Navier–Stokes (NS ...

Numerical studies influence configuration fairing flap track airfoil type naca 4412 and naca 6412 character unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV)

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2018
Wings have a function of changing the air flowing into force lift, and drag. It can reduce the drag is fairing flap track, where its function can reduce the obstacles caused by the effects of compressibility, fairing flap track also has a major influence

Thermally Induced Creep and Viscoelastic Behavior of Copper Micropillar Arrays

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Copper micropillar arrays are fabricated by electrodeposition within through‐glass‐via, and their thermally induced time‐dependent deformation is quantified. Nanoindentation creep, EBSD, and TEM reveal a heat‐treatment‐driven transition between grain‐boundary‐mediated deformation and dislocation‐dominated creep, while Kelvin modeling captures ...

No Charging but Protection: Lifetime Prolongation of Spontaneously‐polarized Electrets for Energy Harvesting Applications

open access: yesENERGY &ENVIRONMENTAL MATERIALS, EarlyView.
A bilayer protection approach is proposed for slowing down the surface potential decay of thin films of spontaneously‐polarized electret materials. The electret and the protective films are characterized, and the protection effectiveness is investigated under the effects of light illumination, water contact and mechanical impact.

Morphology and osteo‐histology of the weigeltisaurid wing: Implications for aerial locomotion in the world's first gliding reptiles

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
This study investigates the morphology and osteo‐histology of the wing skeleton of the world's first gliding reptiles, showing how it differs from those of extant gliding lizards, yet is also convergently similar. These findings pave the way for future biomechanical studies on the gliding locomotion of these emblematic fossil animals. Abstract The Late

From Origami to Bistable and Laminate Structures: A Review for Multifunctional Applications from Structural Perspective of Shape‐Changing Structures

open access: yesAdvanced Intelligent Systems, Volume 8, Issue 2, February 2026.
This review explores how shape‐changing structures—origami, bistable, and laminate structures—enable multifunctionality in soft robotics and metamaterials. Starting from structural design, it examines core principles, real‐world applications, and ongoing challenges.
