Comparison of Haemodynamic Responses to Laryngeal Mask Airway Insertion and Laryngoscopy with Endotracheal Intubation in Adults Undergoing Elective Surgery at Muhimbili [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

Anaesthetic Management of Acquired Tracheal Stenosis for Tracheal Resection and Reconstruction

open access: yesAirway, 2021
Tracheal resection is a rare and complex surgery. The critical phases of the surgery are during induction in the presence of a critical airway, intraoperatively during airway transection and postoperatively for the maintenance of the reconstructed airway

Early Clinical, Imaging, and Pathological Characteristics of SRPK3/TTN‐Digenic Myopathy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy was recently established as a skeletal muscle myopathy caused by digenic inheritance. This study characterizes the early clinical presentation of SRPK3/TTN‐digenic myopathy in one previously reported and seven newly identified pediatric patients.

SPP1 promotes lymph node metastasis and malignant progression of head and neck squamous cell carcinoma by activating FAK-AKT signaling pathway

open access: yesWorld Journal of Surgical Oncology
Background Lymph node metastasis is a critical determinant of poor prognosis in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC). Secreted phosphoprotein 1 (SPP1) has been implicated in the progression of multiple malignancies; however, its clinical ...

Electrospun Core–Shell Bioadhesive Nanofiber Sheets Enable Durable Pulmonary Air Leak Sealing Under Wet and Dynamic Conditions

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
A core–shell electrospun nanofiber sheet provides strong adhesion and durable sealing on the wet and dynamic lung surface. The engineered fibrous architecture maintains airtight integrity and offers a potential alternative to fibrin sealants for pulmonary air leak management in thoracic surgery.
