Integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into colorectal cancer reporting

open access: yesThe Journal of Pathology, Volume 268, Issue 4, Page 367-382, April 2026.
Abstract Artificial intelligence (AI) and deep learning (DL) are transforming cancer research and clinical care, with histopathology playing a central role in this transformation. In colorectal cancer (CRC), the second leading cause of cancer mortality world‐wide, multimodal and vision‐language models (VLMs) hold particular promise for enhancing the ...

A new method to measure EC50 reveals cultivar‐specific fungicide resistance and very high diversity within experimental field populations of Zymoseptoria tritici

open access: yesPest Management Science, Volume 82, Issue 4, Page 3613-3624, April 2026.
We isolated Zymoseptoria tritici strains from a diverse wheat field and quantified fungicide resistance using a novel plate assay. We found high diversity in fungicide sensitivity and host–fungicide–pathogen interactions. Abstract BACKGROUND Zymoseptoria tritici causes Septoria tritici blotch (STB), the most damaging wheat disease in Europe. In Europe,

Occurrence of Hypoxemia the First Day After Trauma Assessed by Continuous Pulse Oximetry

open access: yesActa Anaesthesiologica Scandinavica, Volume 70, Issue 4, April 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Trauma is a leading cause of death and disability in young adults. Although supplemental oxygen is recommended early after trauma to prevent hypoxemia, evidence regarding the occurrence and distribution of hypoxemic episodes, to raise awareness on potential clinical implications, is sparse.

Claudin‐18 expression in gastric type adenocarcinoma and HPV‐associated adenocarcinoma of the uterine cervix

open access: yesHistopathology, Volume 88, Issue 5, Page 1003-1015, April 2026.
CLDN18 (43‐14A) is expressed in most gastric type adenocarcinomas and a much smaller proportion of HPV‐associated adenocarcinomas. Expression of CLDN18.2 mRNA but not CLDN18.1 mRNA is confirmed in both gastric type adenocarcinomas and HPV‐associated adenocarcinomas.
