Design and Development of a Magnetic Lead Screw With a Quasi‐Halbach Array
This paper reports on a study of a novel MLS with a quasi‐Halbach array and a rotor made of a SMC. The proposed topology has an array formed from a helix of discretized pieces of PMs axially and radially magnetized in its slider. Using FEA and static magnetic simulations, prototypes were assessed.

Abstract Since the early 1900s, supporters of steel structural stability research in the United States have consisted of a broad cross‐section of public, private, and nonprofit entities, with federal and state governments financing most of the activity. However, the model for future government support of science and engineering research in the U.S.

The study demonstrates that a titanium/tungsten barrier layer significantly improves Cu(In, Ga)Se2 (CIGS) solar cell performance by effectively screening the impurities from steel substrate to CIGS layer. Increasing the barrier layer thickness from 0 to 208 nm boosts efficiency from ≈4% to 16% due to improvement in open circuit voltage and fill factor,
