Results 81 to 90 of about 219,700 (321)
We used actual and adjusted weights to 120 d and 210 d of age of 72,731 male and female Nellore calves born in 40 PMGRN - Nellore Brazil herds from 1985 to 2005 aiming to compare the effect of different definitions of contemporary groups on estimates of

Structure Selection of Polynomial NARX Models using Two Dimensional (2D) Particle Swarms
The present study applies a novel two-dimensional learning framework (2D-UPSO) based on particle swarms for structure selection of polynomial nonlinear auto-regressive with exogenous inputs (NARX) models.

We demonstrate that Cars2, a cysteine catabolic enzyme in mouse iBAT, is critical for cold tolerance and brown adipocyte differentiation. Through its CPERS activity, Cars2 produces CysSSH/H2S to induce EBF2 persulfidation, promoting its interaction with PPARγ and BRG1 to enhance thermogenic gene expression.

A New Extended Rayleigh Distribution with Applications of COVID-19 Data
In this manuscript, we proposed a new extension of the Rayleigh distribution named as MTI Rayleigh distribution (MTIRD) that provides better fits than the Rayleigh distribution and some of its known generalizations.

Mixed Generalized Akaike Information Criterion for Small Area Models
Summary A mixed generalized Akaike information criterion xGAIC is introduced and validated. It is derived from a quasi-log-likelihood that focuses on the random effect and the variability between the areas, and from a generalized degree-of-freedom measure, as a model complexity penalty, which is calculated by the bootstrap.

The authors complement bovine pan‐SV with massive novel structural variations (SVs) identified through long‐read sequencing of 83 globally distributed cattle breeds. Repetitive sequence‐mediated SVs (rep‐SV) exhibit distinct dynamic patterns throughout cattle sub‐speciation and/or domestication processes, including uneven distribution between chr‐X and

Relationship Between Knowledge and Compliance With Safety Measures: Evidence From COVID‐19
ABSTRACT Compliance with health safety protocols is important for protecting public health, particularly in agricultural sectors where disease outbreaks can disrupt production and market access. Despite its economic significance, we know little about what drives protocol compliance.

An information theory approach to hypothesis testing in criminological research
Background This research demonstrates how the Akaike information criterion (AIC) can be an alternative to null hypothesis significance testing in selecting best fitting models. It presents an example to illustrate how AIC can be used in this way. Methods

Abstract The vegetable market experiences significant price fluctuations due to the complex interplay of trend, cyclical, seasonal, and irregular factors. This study takes Korean green onions as an example and employs the Christiano–Fitzgerald filter and the CensusX‐13 seasonal adjustment methods to decompose its price into four components: trend ...
