Linguistics of the Tibeto-Burman Area, 1982
This article offers a phonological comparison of the distribution of vowels in Akha and Hani in closed and open syllables. A selected dialect of Hani from China is compared to Akha dialects from Burma and Thailand. The author describes and illustrates the behaviour of vowels in initial and final postions and in closed and open syllables.
