Chlorella vulgaris biorefineries: sustainable biofuels and high‐value carbon capture

open access: yesBiofuels, Bioproducts and Biorefining, EarlyView.
Abstract Global reliance on fossil fuels has created urgent economic and environmental challenges, yet large‐scale use of algal biomass remains limited by production costs. Industrial scaling is constrained by inefficient harvesting and the technical challenges of processing recalcitrant cell walls.

Prevalence of anterior knee pain among patients following total knee arthroplasty with nonreplaced patella: A retrospective study of 1778 knees

open access: yesMedicina, 2014
Background and objective: : Anterior knee pain (AKP) may compromise the results of total knee arthroplasty in more than quarter of cases. The aim of the current work was to determine the prevalence of AKP and the severity of patellofemoral symptoms among

Evaluation of Anterior Knee Pain in Recreational and Professional Athletes Using Kujala Anterior Knee Pain Scale in Middle-aged Indian Population

open access: yesJournal of Integrated Health Sciences, 2023
Background: Anterior knee pain (AKP) is the most common musculoskeletal complaint in all age groups. It is common in both recreational and professional athletes. The literature shows a lack of studies that focus on AKP in middle-aged population.

On the number of transversals in a class of Latin squares

open access: yes, 2017
Denote by $\mathcal{A}_p^k$ the Latin square of order $n=p^k$ formed by the Cayley table of the additive group $(\mathbb{Z}_p^k,+)$, where $p$ is an odd prime and $k$ is a positive integer.

Recommendations for structural magnetic resonance imaging in infants with first afebrile seizure or new onset epilepsy: Evidence‐based recommendations from the ILAE Neuroimaging Task Force

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Infants aged 1–24 months with new onset epilepsy frequently present with structural brain abnormalities, yet no updated evidence‐based magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) guidelines exist for this population. The International League Against Epilepsy (ILAE) Neuroimaging Task Force developed evidence‐based recommendations for structural brain MRI ...

Equivariant symbol calculus for differential operators acting on forms [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
We prove the existence and uniqueness of a projectively equivariant symbol map (in the sense of Lecomte and Ovsienko) for the spaces $D_p$ of differential operators transforming p-forms into functions.

Overcoming contact issues in bottom‐contact, short‐channel organic transistors with van der Waals conformal contacts

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
A new conformal contact transfer strategy is developed to enhance the contact interface quality between organic semiconductors and metal electrodes in bottom‐contact, short channel organic field‐effect transistors. By utilizing interfacial water permeation and surface functionalization, the method achieves a van der Waals conformal contact interface ...

Litsea cubeba Essential Oil Reduces Postharvest Blueberry Rot by Inducing Cell Membrane Damage and Reactive Oxygen Species Accumulation in Alternaria alternata

open access: yesFuture Postharvest and Food, EarlyView.
Litsea cubeba essential oil (LCEO) reduces blueberry rot while maintaining quality. It disrupts the cellular structure and membranes of Alternaria alternata, causing solute leakage, while simultaneously inducing reactive oxygen species (ROS) accumulation and mitochondrial membrane potential (MMP) damage in the pathogen.
