Konsep Nubuwwah di kalangan filosof muslim masih menjadi perdebatan. yakni terbelah menjadi dua pemikiran. Di antara filosof yang menerima konsep kenabian adalah Ibnu Miskawaih, al-Farabi, al-Ghazali, dan Ibn Sina. Sementara filosof yang menolak konsep Nubuwah antara lain Aḥmad ibn Iṣḥāq al-Ruwāndī dan Abū Bakr Muḥammad ibn Zakariya al-Rāzī.
