Molecular Detection, Epidemiology and Genetic Diversity of Babesia microti Infecting Wild Rodents. [PDF]
Vet Med SciBlood samples from 284 rodents captured across seven districts of Pakistan were screened for Babesia microti using 18S rRNA PCR. Overall prevalence was 12%, with infection detected in Rattus rattus, Mus musculus and Rattus norvegicus. Phylogenetic analysis showed close similarity with global isolates.
