Al–Si/B4C composite coatings on Al–Si substrate by plasma spray technique

Materials & Design, 2007
Abstract Plasma-sprayed coatings of Al–Si/B 4 C have been prepared on Al–Si piston alloys for diesel engine motors. The Al–Si/B 4 C composite powders including 5–25 wt% B 4 C were prepared by mixing and ball-milling processes. These powders were deposited on Al–Si substrate using an atmospheric plasma spray technique.

Corrosion Resistance of MAO Coatings on Al-Si Alloys

Solid State Phenomena, 2020
The paper presents the results of an experimental study of the influence of micro-arc oxidation (MAO) on the parameters and the corrosion resistance of MAO-treated surfaces on a high-silicon aluminum alloy, M244 (Si ~ 25 %). The article describes the study methodology, comprising forming a coating on the surface of laboratory samples by means of MAO at

Laser cladding of Al-Si/SiC composite coatings: Microstructure and abrasive wear behavior

ICALEO 2007: 26th International Congress on Laser Materials Processing, Laser Microprocessing and Nanomanufacturing, 2007
Surface coatings of an Al-Si-SiC composite were produced on UNS A03560 cast Al-alloy substrates by laser cladding using a mixture of powders of Al-12 wt.% Si alloy and SiC. The microstructure of the coatings depends considerably on the processing parameters.

Machining performance of Ti–Al–Si–N coated inserts

Surface and Coatings Technology, 2010
Abstract Ti–Al–Si–N quaternary coating has recently been developed for industrial applications due to its excellent machining performance. Here, we present a comparative research on Ti–Al–N single layer, Ti–Al–Si–N single layer, TiAlN–TiAlSiN bilayer and TiAlN/TiAlSiN multilayer coatings deposited onto cemented carbide substrates by cathodic arc ...

Analysis of Al-Si coatings in terms of bendability

Inżynieria Powierzchni, 2019
Protective coatings provide protection of structures against corrosion, but they also aim to meet marketing requirements – decorative qualities. One of the representatives of protective coatings are fire coatings based on Al and Al-Si, which have been used, among others, in the automotive industry.

Structure of Intermetallic Al–Si Coating on Inconel 617

Materials Science Forum, 2014
Nickel superalloy was coated by aluminide coatings by the slurry method. The slurry as active mixture containing aluminium and silicon powders, an activator and a binder. The coating were obtained by annealed in argon atmosphere. The structure of these coatings is two zonal and depends on time and temperature of producing.
