Al–Si coating fused by Al+Si powders formed on Ti–6Al–4V alloy and its oxidation resistance
Materials Science and Engineering: A, 2006Abstract An Al–Si coating was successfully produced by means of the low oxygen pressure fusing technology for improving the oxidation resistance of Ti–6Al–4V alloy. The Al and Si concentration in coating and coating thickness could be controlled by adjusting powder mixing ratio and changing the technical parameters (fusing temperature and time ...

Abstract 5Cr–0.5Mo steel was coated by hot-dipping in a molten Al–10 wt.% Si bath at 700 °C for 10, 60, 120 or 180 s. The identification of the phases in the Fe–Al–Si intermetallic phases formed in the aluminide layers during hot-dipping was carried out by using a combination of scanning electron microscope (SEM) with energy dispersive X-ray ...

Solution growth of silicon on Al-Si coated quartz glass substrates
Materials Letters, 1994Abstract We investigated the solution growth of silicon on quartz glass in the temperature range 800–580°C. A thin Al-Si layer, evaporated on the quartz glass, served to improve the wetting between the substrate and the Al Ga solvent. We obtained silicon deposits with a grain size up to a few 100 μm.

Computer simulation of the cyclic oxidation of the Al–Si coatings
Computational Materials Science, 2004Abstract A model (COSP) useful in predicting the cyclic oxidation behaviors of coating on nickel-base superalloys is presented. The content of the Al–Si coatings is calculated and the oxidation kinetics curve is simulated under cyclic conditions. The predicting result is fairly exact.

Characterization of Laser Additive Manufactured Al-Si Coating on Titanium Alloy
Materials Today: Proceedings, 2019Abstract The study is aimed at using laser surface cladding process, by using coating composite of Al-Si cladded onto a Titanium alloy (α/β) substrate. The ratio of the composite metal layer coating used to metallurgically bond with the substrate consisted of 80, and 85% Al and 15 and 20% Si.
