Red-colored water in the supralittoral zone of the Alaid Volcano: long-term spectroscopic observations

open access: yesSaratov Fall Meeting 2020: Optical and Nanotechnologies for Biology and Medicine, 2021
The paper presents the results of a spectroscopic study of the "colored" water detected in the splash baths in the supralittoral zone of the Alaid Volcano (the Kuril Islands) from 2015 to 2019. The splash baths with magenta, red and red-yellow water located in different parts of the island in various summer seasons.

The Geochemistry and Potential Fertility of Volcanic Ash Discharged by Alaid and Ebeko Volcanoes, Kuril Islands

Journal of Volcanology and Seismology, 2021
We have found out the general patterns in the elemental composition of ash ejected by the Kuril volcanoes Alaid and Ebeko. The ashes show persistent exceedances in the concentrations of K, Bi, U, Cs, Th, Na, and Yb relative to the mean concentrations for the respective types of volcanic rock.

Potassium Alkaline Volcanism of Alaid Volcano, Kuril Islands: the Role of Subduction Melange in Magma Genesis

Petrology
New data are presented on the contents of major elements and trace elements, Sr-Nd-Pb isotopes in the Holocene high-potassium basic lavas of the Alaid volcano, located in the north of the Kuril island arc in the junction zone with the Kamchatka volcanic segment.

The 2016 Eruptions in Kamchatka and on the North Kuril Islands: The Hazard to Aviation

open access: yesJournal of Volcanology and Seismology, 2019
Large explosive eruptions of volcanoes pose the highest hazard to modern jet f lights, because such eruptions can eject as much as several cubic kilometers of volcanic ash and aerosol into the atmosphere during a few hours or days.

Ore Elements and Minerals in The Elements of Alaid Volcano (Kuril Island Arc)

Вулканология и сейсмология
Sublimates tested in 2013–2020 were studied. in the near-crater zone and on the slopes of the Alaid volcano, located in the Kuril Island arc. It has been established that in the near-crater zone there are native metals confined to zones of acid leaching, within which the original lavas and tuffs have been transformed into opal-like formations or rocks ...
