Polymeric Carbon Nitride‐Photocatalyzed Aerobic Epoxidation of Alkenes: Application to a Sustainable Synthesis of Rose Oxide

open access: yesChemSusChem, EarlyView.
Heterogenous photocatalyzed alkene epoxidation: A simple urea‐based polymeric carbon nitride catalyzes the aerobic epoxidation of citronellol and a range of other alkenes under visible light irradiation. Mediation by an aliphatic aldehyde can accelerate the reaction, and the photocatalytic method enables an efficient short synthesis of the terpenoid ...

Role for inflammatory markers in predicting right ventricular failure in mechanical assist device recipients

open access: yesESC Heart Failure, EarlyView.
Abstract Right ventricular failure (RVF) is a common complication following left ventricular assist device (LVAD) implantation and increases patient morbidity and mortality. Due to the complex and limited understanding of RVF pathophysiology, efforts to prognosticate RVF after LVAD have been challenging.

Prognostic value of NT‐proBNP in patients with primary mitral regurgitation undergoing transcatheter edge‐to‐edge repair

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Heart Failure, EarlyView.
In the PRIME‐MR study, patients with higher N‐terminal pro‐B‐type natriuretic peptide (NT‐proBNP) tertiles more frequently reached death or heart failure hospitalization (HFH) within 3 years. Log‐transformed NT‐proBNP levels independently predicted the primary endpoint (adjusted hazard ratio 1.17, 95% confidence interval 1.07–1.28; p < 0.001).
