Chemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.Manganese oxides (MnOX) of different structures and with different Mn oxidation states exhibit significant variation in their reactivity toward the oxidation of allylic alcohols. Using two allylic alcohol model substrates, we demonstrate the relationship between activity and MnOX structure, Mn4+ content and incorporated secondary cations.

Optimization of 3D‐Printed Structured Packings—Current State and Future Developments
Chemie Ingenieur Technik, EarlyView.This paper gives an overview about structured packing development for distillation, surveying heuristic development cycles, computational fluid dynamics simulations, and additive manufacturing techniques. The emerging application of shape optimization to improve packings is emphasized, and its benefits, impact, and limitations are discussed.

How Amino Acids Intercalate in CaFe Layered Double Hydroxides: A Combined RIXS and NEXAFS Study
ChemPhysChem, Volume 26, Issue 6, March 15, 2025.Intercalation of amino acids in layered double hydroxides offers a road to functional (bio)catalysts. With resonant soft x‐ray spectroscopy we probe the electronic structure of these systems and observe activation and passivation of electronic states as well as bond formation between the amino acid and the LDH upon intercalation.
