In the NW part of the Adriatic Carbonate Platform (AdCP), in Istria region, during Late Albian diagenetic silicification occured. Silicification took place within the peritidal carbonate sequences comprising intertidal carbonate breccias and laminated cyanobacterial limestones, as well as subtidal mudstones peloidal wackstones/packstones.
