Saponins from Albizia lebbeck

Phytochemistry, 1995
Three main saponins named albiziasaponins A, B, and C were isolated from the barks of Albizia lebbeck. Their structures were established through spectral analyses as acacic acid lactone 3-O-beta-D-xylopyranosyl-(1-->2)-alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1-->6)- beta-D-glucopyranoside, 3-O-beta-D-glucopyranosyl-(1-->2)-O-[alpha-L-arabinopyranosyl-(1-- >6)]- beta-

Two new triterpenoid saponins from the flowers of Albizia lebbeck

Natural Product Research, 2022
The chemical investigation of the fresh flowers of Albizia lebbeck (L.) Benth. (Fabaceae, Mimosoideae) led to the isolation of two new echinocystic acid saponins. They were isolated by using chromatographic methods and their structures were elucidated by detailed 1H and 13C NMR spectral data including 2 D-NMR (COSY, HSQC, HMBC and APT) spectroscopic ...

Species specific Rhizobium - albizia Lebbeck interaction

Indian Journal of Forestry, 2006
The Rhizobium strain isolated from A. lebbeck nodules performed significantly as compared to other rhizobial strains isolated from Delbergia sissoo and Acacia catechu. There was increase in growth parameters viz., plant height (41%), collar diameter (12%), nodule formation (200%) and biomass yield (199%), with rhizobial strain (R3) in comparison with ...

Composition and properties of Albizia lebbeck gum exudate

Biochemical Systematics and Ecology, 1995
Abstract An analytical study has been made of six gum specimens from Albizia lebbeck , Leguminosae. Galactose, mannose, arabinose, glucuronic acid and its 4- O - α -metyl analogue are present in all the specimens studied. Rhamnose was not detected according to sugar analysis and spectral data.

Leaf flavonoids of Albizia lebbeck

Phytochemistry, 1998
Two new tri-O-glycoside flavonols: kaempferol and quercetin 3-O-alpha-rhamnopyranosyl(1-->6)-beta-glucopyranosyl(1-->6)-beta- galactopyranosides, were identified from the leaves of Albizia lebbeck. Structures were established by conventional methods of analysis and confirmed by ESI-MS, 1H and 13C-NMR spectral analysis.

Hepatoprotective activity and phytochemical study of Albizia lebbeck flowers

Planta Medica, 2015
The total alcoholic extract of Albizia lebbeck, flowers, family Fabaceae showed a highly significant (P< 0.001) protective effect on CCl4-induced liver toxicity. Best improvement in biochemical parameters comparable with silymarin was observed in AST and bilirubin levels. Significant (P< 0.01) improvement in TP and MDA was observed.
