A comparative analysis of the UV/Vis absorption spectra of nitrobenzaldehydes. [PDF]
In a joint experimental and theoretical study, the UV/Vis absorption spectra of the three isomers (ortho, meta, para) of nitrobenzaldehyde (NBA) were analyzed. Absorption spectra are reported for NBA vapors, cyclohexane and acetonitrile solutions.

Studies on Bile Pigments II. Seperation of Natural Direct Bilirubins [PDF]
Separation of both forms of the direct bilirubin were carried out from the dog's gallbladder bile, and further isolations of them were also done. 1. The natural salt-form bilirubin was isolated after separation on the column of aluminium oxide with a n ...

Protection against photooxidative injury of tobacco leaves by 2-alkenal reductase: detoxication of lipid peroxide-derived reactive carbonyls [PDF]
Degradation of lipid peroxides leads to the formation of cytotoxic 2-alkenals and oxenes (collectively designated reactive carbonyls). The novel NADPH-dependent oxidoreductase 2-alkenal reductase (AER; EC 1.3.1.74) from Arabidopsis (Arabidopsis thaliana),

Selective Oxidation of sp^3 C-H Bonds in Water Catalyzed by a Glycinate-Platinum(II) Complex [PDF]
In aqueous solution, [Pt^(II)(glycinato)Cl_2]^− catalyzes oxidation by [Pt^(IV)Cl_6]^(2−) of the methyl group of p-toluenesulfonate to the corresponding alcohol and aldehyde, with no further oxidation to the carboxylic acid. Both rate and selectivity are

Update on the aldehyde dehydrogenase gene (ALDH) superfamily
Members of the aldehyde dehydrogenase gene (ALDH) superfamily play an important role in the enzymic detoxification of endogenous and exogenous aldehydes and in the formation of molecules that are important in cellular processes, like retinoic acid ...
