Overview of acute Chinese medicine poisoning in Hong Kong
Hong Kong Journal of Emergency Medicine, Volume 32, Issue 6, December 2025.Abstract Background Chinese medicine (CM) poisoning is relatively rare in Hong Kong. According to the Department of Health, only 17 cases of self‐medicated Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM)‐related poisoning were reported between 2019 and 2021—an average of approximately 5.7 cases per year.
