Aldrin, dieldrin and man

Food and Cosmetics Toxicology, 1968
Abstract The body burden of HEOD is a reflection of the intensity of exposure to aldrin and dieldrin. While determination of HEOD in the blood is a satisfactory means of screening large groups for significant variations in degree of exposure, the more precise definition required for estimating body burdens in experimental subjects or in those exposed

Inhibition of fish brain ATPases by aldrin-transdiol, aldrin, dieldrin and photodieldrin

Biochemical and Biophysical Research Communications, 1975
The sensitivity of catfish, Ictalurus punctatus, brain ATPase activities to cyclodiene compounds was investigated. The ATPase system showed differences in sensitivity to aldrin, dieldrin and photodieldrin. However, aldrin-transdiol (a more terminal metabolite of dieldrin and reported as a more potent neurotoxin than dieldrin) had no effect on any ...

New photometabolites of aldrin

Tetrahedron, 1985
Abstract A reinvestigation of the photochemical transformation of the cyclodiene insecticide aldrin has yielded four new metabolites. Their structures, based on spectroscopic grounds, is now reported.

Determination of aldrin residues in vegetables by the chemical conversion of aldrin to dieldrin

The Analyst, 1968
The determination of aldrin in certain samples of vegetables by gas chromatography has proved to be difficult, as peaks from impurities interfere. To eliminate this disadvantage a method was developed in which aldrin was converted to dieldrin and the amount of dieldrin determined by gas chromatography.
