Effects of biochar-based compound fertilizer (BCF)-urea on growth, yield, N-uptake and protein content of corn (Zea mays L.) in Madura Alfisol [PDF]
The low Nitrogen (N) and organic Carbon (C-organic) content typical of Alfisol in Madura presents a significant agricultural challenge. To address this, a study was conducted into the effects of Biochar-Based Compound Fertilizer (BCF)-Urea on the growth,

Soil Micromorphologic Features of Holocene Surface Weathering and a Possible Late Quaternary Buried Soil, Northwest Arkansas [PDF]
Micromorphologic features of an alfisol developed in White River alluvium near Fayetteville, Arkansas are typical for this soil order. The A horizon has a relatively high organic matter content and an abundance of quartz sand grains with a silt and clay ...

Net mineralizable soil phosphorus cannot be measured by non‐isotopic approaches
Abstract While radioisotopic pool dilution is widely regarded as the most reliable method for estimating soil phosphorus mineralization (Pmin), high costs, low throughput, and safety requirements limit its use. We evaluated the potential of non‐radioisotopic approaches to estimating net Pmin by difference before and after aerobic incubation, analogous ...

Levantamiento de suelos en la cuenca baja del río Pilón, Nuevo León, México
A soil survey was carried out at a semidetailed level by means of aerial photography and the relationships of photographic–soil and landscape–soil images. This permitted to separate the photointerpretation units.

Effect of companion ion on nitrate displacement through transport parameters analysis [PDF]
Nitrate is the main form of nitrogen associated with water contamination; the high mobility of this species in soil justifies the concern regarding nitrogen management in agricultural soils.

ABSTRACT Floods are among the most frequent and damaging natural hazards in India, particularly affecting low‐lying urban areas in the eastern regions such as Cuttack, Odisha. This study aims to develop a flood hazard susceptibility map for the Cuttack district in Odisha, India, using a combined Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) and fuzzy logic ...

In a snow‐dominated headwater catchment, snow‐dependent water storage controls silicate weathering and solute export. In the driest year with the least snow water equivalent (SWE), rates of silicate weathering and export rates of weathering products were about half and a third of those in the wettest year with the highest SWE.

SOIL PHYSICAL AND CHEMICAL PROPERTIES AND COCOYAM YIELD UNDER DIFFERENT TILLAGE SYSTEMS IN A TROPICAL ALFISOL [PDF]
Experimental data on tillage requirement of cocoyam (Xanthosoma sagittifolium) are needed to identify the most suitable tillage methods for managing the fragile Alfisols of the humid tropics to ensure sustained productivity. Hence, five tillage methods
