Exposure to Climate Change and Earnings Manipulation

open access: yesJournal of Business Finance &Accounting, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study investigates whether and how climate change exposure (CCE) influences corporate financial reporting practices. Using a newly developed firm‐specific CCE measure from conference calls, we find that US firms with higher CCE exhibit greater real earnings management (REM).

Proteomic analysis in hidradenitis suppurativa reveals systemic inflammation in all disease stages

open access: yesJournal of the European Academy of Dermatology and Venereology, EarlyView.
Proteomic profiling reveals systemic inflammation in patients with hidradenitis suppurativa, even in early disease. Distinct mediators (e.g. TGF‐α, OSM, HGF) are elevated early, whereas others correlate with clinical severity (e.g. IL‐6, VEGF‐A, IL‐17A) or disease duration (e.g.

Altered photoperiod affects behaviour in a key fish grazer, the thinlip grey mullet, Chelon ramada

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract The aim of this study is to address experimentally the immediate impacts of an alteration of the photoperiod, simulating an extreme artificial light pollution, on the behaviour and stress of a key grazer fish common in temperate coastal ecosystems in Europe, the thinlip grey mullet, Chelon ramada.

Quantifying post‐release behaviour of a critically endangered elasmobranch over two capture events using high‐resolution archival tag data

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract During catch‐and‐release angling, highly resident species are susceptible to multiple recapture events. Biologging offers the opportunity to study post‐release behaviour in detail; however, most studies have focused on a single capture‐release event.

Take my breath away: Defining the oxygen saturation threshold for fish cortisol stress response

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Human activities are affecting the number, size and severity of hypoxic zones in aquatic ecosystems. As oxygen is one of the most important abiotic factors affecting fish biology, exposure to low levels of dissolved oxygen may lead to a reduction in fitness.

Ocular Manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus Infection in Atlantic Salmon (Salmo salar)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Diseases, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Eyes are essential sensory organs needed by teleost Atlantic salmon for high visual acuity and survival in both the wild and in aquaculture settings. In this work, we assessed the ocular manifestations of Infectious Salmon Anaemia Virus (ISAV) infection in Atlantic salmon by a cohabitation‐mediated infection assay and histological and ...
