Abstract Homomorphisms of Algebraic Groups

Journal of the London Mathematical Society, 1997
Let \(K\) be an infinite perfect field and \(L\) an algebraically closed field of the same characteristic \(p\) (\(p=0\) or a prime). Let \(G(K)\) denote a Chevalley group of universal type over \(K\) and \(Y(L)\) an algebraic group over \(L\). This paper is concerned with abstract homomorphisms from \(G(K)\) to \(Y(L)\).

Compact Homomorphisms of C ∗ -Algebras

Proceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1988
If \(\theta\) is a compact endomorphism on a commutative, semisimple, unital Banach algebra A, and \(\theta^*\) is the adjoint of \(\theta\), it is shown by \textit{H. Kamowitz} [Pac. J. Math. 89, 313-325 (1980; Zbl 0465.46047)] that the intersection \(\cap \theta^{*n}(A')\) is finite, where A' is the set of all multiplicative linear functionals on A ...

Fuzzy homomorphisms of algebras

Fuzzy Sets and Systems, 2009
In this paper one of the approaches to fuzzy homomorphisms is presented. In the works of most authors, the role of fuzzy homomorphisms was assumed by ordinary functions and homomorphisms, which were studied in connection with diverse fuzzy concepts on algebraic structures.

On Homomorphisms of Group Algebras

American Journal of Mathematics, 1960
Introduction. There have been several papers written on the subject of determining all homomorphisms, and more particularly, isomorphisms of group algebras of locally compact abelian groups. Except in certain special cases there does not seem to be much known.

Algebra homomorphisms from cosine convolution algebras

Israel Journal of Mathematics, 2008
The author considers the cosine convolution product \(\ast_c\) in the Banach space \(L_\omega^{1}({\mathbb R}^{+})\) (for certain weight functions \(\omega\)). The character space of the corresponding Banach algebra \(L_\omega^{1}(\mathbb R^{+}, \ast_c)\) is described and it is proved that its multiplier algebra is isomorphic to \(M_\omega(\mathbb R^{+}

Homomorphisms onto negative algebras

Algebra and Logic, 1992
We show that every numerated algebra satisfying sufficiently general assumptions can be approximated by negative algebras, and we specify sufficient algebraic conditions for such approximability. Our discussion is supplemented by examples of infinite positive algebras with residually finite, positively representable enrichments.
