On extensions of superconformal algebras [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mathematical Physics, 2005
Starting from vector fields that preserve a differential form on a Riemann sphere with Grassmann variables, one can construct a superconformal algebra by considering central extensions of the algebra of vector fields. In this paper, the N=4 case is analyzed closely, where the presence of weight zero operators in the field theory forces the introduction

Beyond the Non‐Hermitian Skin Effect: Scaling‐Controlled Topology from Exceptional‐Bound Bands

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT We establish a novel mechanism for topological transitions in non‐Hermitian systems that are controlled by the system size. Based on a new paradigm known as exceptional‐bound (EB) band engineering, its mechanism hinges on the unique critical scaling behavior near an exceptional point, totally unrelated to the well‐known non‐Hermitian skin ...

On extensions of Cayley algebras [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1966
In this note the authors prove the following theorem: Let \(A\) be an alternative algebra over \(F\) and \(B\) any subalgebra with identity \(e\). Then consider the following conditions. (i) There exists \(x, y\in B\), \(\alpha\in F\) such that \(e = \alpha(x, y)^4\), where \((x, y) = xy - yx\).

Distinct Biotypes of Visual Perception in Major Depressive Disorder

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
In a discover dataset (272 acute MDD patients), this work identifies a novel depression biotype characterized by impaired visual motion perception, using machine learning clustering. An independent dataset confirms the robustness of this biotype through cross‐validation and demonstrates its generalizability.

Low‐Power Control Of Resistance Switching Transitions in First‐Order Memristors

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
Joule losses are a serious concern in modern integrated circuit design. In this regard, minimizing the energy necessary for programming memristors should be handled with care. This manuscript presents an optimal control framework, allowing to derive energy‐efficient programming voltage protocols for resistance switching devices. Following this approach,

On Extensions over Semigroups and Applications

open access: yesEntropy, 2016
Applying a theorem according to Rhemtulla and Formanek, we partially solve an open problem raised by Hochman with an affirmative answer. Namely, we show that if G is a countable torsion-free locally nilpotent group that acts by homeomorphisms on X, and

Extensions of hereditary algebras

open access: yesManuscripta Mathematica, 1984
Let k be an algebraically closed field, B the path algebra over k of an oriented Dynkin diagram of type \(E_ 6,E_ 7\), or \(E_ 8\), and M an indecomposable right B-module. The author determines the representation type (finite, tame or wild) of the matrix algebra \(\left( \begin{matrix} k\\ 0\end{matrix} \begin{matrix} M\\ B\end{matrix} \right)\) for ...

Mapping the Innovation DNA of Agribusiness Firms: A Multi‐Method Analysis of Strategic Capabilities and Performance

open access: yesAgribusiness, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Innovation is essential for competitiveness in agribusiness facing dynamic environments. This study examines how market orientation, marketing, relational, and social capabilities influence innovation performance. Using data from 751 Spanish firms and a multi‐method approach that integrates Structural Equation Modeling (PLS‐SEM), Necessary ...

Applications of Fixed Point Theorems to Generalized Saddle Points of Bifunctions on Chain-Complete Posets

open access: yesAbstract and Applied Analysis, 2014
We apply the extensions of the Abian-Brown fixed point theorem for set-valued mappings on chain-complete posets to examine the existence of generalized and extended saddle points of bifunctions defined on posets.

Transient modeling of extraction columns: Parameter estimation, uncertainty analysis, and operation optimization

open access: yesAIChE Journal, EarlyView.
Abstract Despite extensive modeling efforts in extraction research, transient column models are rarely applied in industry due to concerns regarding parameter identifiability and model reliability. To address this, we analyzed uncertainty propagation from estimated parameters in a previously introduced column model and assessed identifiability via ill ...
