Concurrent Terahertz Spin Excitations and Phase Shift Control in Fe4Nb2O9: A Material for Synergizing Computation and Communication Technologies

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A multifunctional terahertz (THz) platform is demonstrated, in a model material Fe4Nb2O9, exhibiting a large intrinsic THz phase shift alongside distinct THz magnon excitations in its antiferromagnetic phase. This coexistence of phase modulation and spin dynamics offers a promising pathway toward integrated THz communication and magnonic computation ...

On Primitive Elements in Differentially Algebraic Extension Fields [PDF]

open access: yesTransactions of the American Mathematical Society, 1968
It is well known that if F is a field of characteristic zero and K= F(cq, ..., ,Cc) is a finite algebraic extension of F, then K contains a primitive element, i.e. an element a such that F(al, . . ., a() = F(x). Moreover, by means of Galois theory, it is possible to characterize those elements of the extension field which are primitive.

TRIM: Simultaneous Thermometry, Ranging, and Imaging via a Monolithic Metalens

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT While metasurfaces offer a pathway beyond the discrete architectures of conventional LWIR systems, physically fusing high‐precision thermometry and passive ranging onto a single metalens remains a formidable challenge. Here, we demonstrate a monolithic, dual‐focus metalens capable of simultaneous multidimensional sensing.

Wilson's map operations on regulat dessins and cyclotomic fields of definition

open access: yes, 2009
Dessins d’enfants can be seen as bipartite graphs embedded in compact orientable surfaces. According to Grothendieck and others, a dessin uniquely determines a complex structure on the surface, even an algebraic structure as a projective algebraic curve ...

Beyond Percolation: Graphene‐Enabled Network Reinforcement Enhances Thermal Transport in Paraffin Phase‐Change Composites

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Expanded‐graphite/graphene‐nanoplatelet hybrids deliver a near‐order‐of‐magnitude thermal‐conductivity enhancement in paraffin phase‐change materials. A microCT‐informed 3D modeling framework resolves the percolating EG backbone and captures sub‐voxel GNP enrichment, quantitatively linking microstructure to heat flow and revealing a graphene‐enabled ...

Heights and infinite algebraic extensions of the rationals [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
textThis dissertation contains a number of results on properties of infinite algebraic extensions of the rational field, all of which have a view toward the study of heights in diophantine geometry.

Updatable Closed‐Form Evaluation of Arbitrarily Complex Multiport Network Connections

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
The inverse design of electrically large wave devices often uses reduced‐order multiport models with discrete optimization, requiring many evaluations of complex interconnections between subsystems that differ only in a few blocks. This paper introduces a closed‐form framework enabling efficient Woodbury low‐rank updates of related, previous ...

Operads for algebraic quantum field theory

open access: yes, 2021
We construct a colored operad whose category of algebras is the category of algebraic quantum field theories. This is achieved by a construction that depends on the choice of a category, whose objects provide the operad colors, equipped with an ...

SPICE‐Compatible Compact Modeling of Cuprate‐Based Memristors Across a Wide Temperature Range

open access: yesAdvanced Electronic Materials, EarlyView.
A physics‐guided compact model for YBCO memristors is introduced, incorporating carrier trapping, field‐induced detrapping, and a differential balance equation to describe their switching dynamics. The model is compared with experiments and implemented in LTspice, allowing realistic circuit‐level simulations.

Foundations of Quantum Mechanics: Generalizations of the Mathematical Axiomatic Derivation of the Schrödinger Equation

open access: yesMathematics
An axiomatic approach to quantum mechanics that has, as a theorem, the Schrödinger equation may be of enormous value to cope with interpretation issues, since all the interpretation constructs must be present in the axioms, or directly derived by them ...
