C*-Algebraic Quantum Groups Arising from Algebraic Quantum Groups [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics, 1997
We associate to an algebraic quantum group a C*-algebraic quantum group and show that this C*-algebraic quantum group essentially satisfies an upcoming definition of Masuda, Nakagami and Woronowicz.

Graphs Defined on Rings: A Review

open access: yesMathematics, 2023
The study on graphs emerging from different algebraic structures such as groups, rings, fields, vector spaces, etc. is a prominent area of research in mathematics, as algebra and graph theory are two mathematical fields that focus on creating and ...

Some properties of finite generalized-groups [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Mahani Mathematical Research
In this article, we discuss  the concept of completely simple-semigroups, which serves as a natural extension of the group structures. These semigroups, also known as generalized-groups, provide an interesting generalization beyond the realm of the ...

A class of continuous non-associative algebras arising from algebraic groups including $E_8$

open access: yesForum of Mathematics, Sigma, 2021
We give a construction that takes a simple linear algebraic group G over a field and produces a commutative, unital, and simple non-associative algebra A over that field.

Algebraic automorphism groups of pro-affine algebraic groups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1980
We study the maximum connected algebraic subgroup of automorphisms of certain pro-affine algebraic groups.

Amenability and coamenability of algebraic quantum groups

open access: yesInternational Journal of Mathematics and Mathematical Sciences, 2002
We define concepts of amenability and coamenability for algebraic quantum groups in the sense of Van Daele (1998). We show that coamenability of an algebraic quantum group always implies amenability of its dual.

Toroidal Algebraic Groups [PDF]

open access: yesProceedings of the American Mathematical Society, 1961
Many of the more striking elementary properties of abelian varieties generalize to other kinds of algebraic groups, e.g. tori, i.e. direct products of multiplicative groups Gm, and in fact to extensions of tori by abelian varieties. This seems to have been more or less known for some time, but explicit statements are hard to find, a lack we attempt to ...

Algebraic entropies, Hopficity and co-Hopficity of direct sums of Abelian Groups

open access: yesTopological Algebra and its Applications, 2015
Necessary and sufficient conditions to ensure that the direct sum of two Abelian groups with zero entropy is again of zero entropy are still unknown; interestingly the same problem is also unresolved for direct sums of Hopfian and co-Hopfian groups. We ...

Group algebras

open access: yesIndian Journal of Pure and Applied Mathematics, 2012
Let \(KG\) be the group ring of a group \(G\) over a ring \(K\). An element \(\alpha\in KG\) is said to be algebraic over \(K\) if there exists a non-constant polynomial \(f(x)\in K[x]\) such that \(f(\alpha)=0\). In this paper the author makes a survey of the main results in the theory of group rings for algebraic elements which are obtained in recent
