ABSTRACT This article presents the Multi‐Axial Subassemblage Testing facility of ETH Zurich, Switzerland (ETHZ‐MAST) for quasi‐static testing and hybrid simulation (HS) of large‐scale structural components and assemblies. The ETHZ‐MAST features a 6‐degrees‐of‐freedom (DOFs, 3 translations and 3 rotations) loading system based on a steel crosshead and ...

Why Woodward and Hoffmann? And Why 1965?**
R. B. Woodward and Roald Hoffmann provided perfect intellectual and experiential synergy for their collaboration on orbital symmetry control of pericyclic reactions. This publication describes their idiosyncratic qualities and how perfectly they matched, at the right place and at the right time.

Seshadri Constants and the geometry of surfaces [PDF]
We examine how the Seshadri constant of an ample line bundle at a very general point of an algebraic surface can carry important global geometric information about the surface. In particular, we obtain a numerical criterion for when a surface admits a dominant map to an algebraic curve.

Mod Tanh‐Activated Physical Neural Network MPPT Control Algorithm for Varying Irradiance Conditions
The proposed MPPT controller (CRT‐POA‐PID) is implemented to enhance power efficiency in the PV system. The beta‐distributed point estimation technique is used for mismatch factor correction, improving performance. Simulations show a 98.42% efficiency improvement, a 4.54 dB reduction in total harmonic distortion, and faster convergence compared to ANN ...

Abstract This study investigates the implementation of the vortex particle method (VPM) with the goal of efficiently and accurately estimating the power performances and flow characteristics for a Savonius rotor. The accuracy and efficiency of simulation methods are critical for the reliable design of Savonius rotors.

Langlands Reciprocity for Algebraic Surfaces [PDF]
This note is an attempt to extend "Geometric Langlands Conjecture" from algebraic curves to algebraic surfaces. We introduce certain Hecke-type operators on vector bundles on an algebraic surface. The crucial observation is that the algebra generated by the Hecke operators turns out to be a homomorphic image of the {\it quantum toroidal algebra}.

Characteristic Number: Theory and Its Application to Shape Analysis
Geometric invariants are important for shape recognition and matching. Existing invariants in projective geometry are typically defined on the limited number (e.g., five for the classical cross-ratio) of collinear planar points and also lack the ability ...

ABSTRACT This study investigates double‐diffusive transport and entropy generation in a wavy cylindrical enclosure containing Cu─H2O Casson nanofluid under magnetic field and thermal radiation effects. The governing equations were solved numerically using the finite element method with Galerkin formulation.

Interaction between heterogeneous thermal stratification and wakes of wind turbine arrays
Abstract The thermal heterogeneity between the land and sea might affect the wind patterns within wind farms (WF) located near seashores. This condition was modeled with a large‐eddy simulation of a numerical weather prediction model (Weather Research and Forecasting) that included the wind turbine actuator disk model (ADM).

Extensions of Rokhlin congruence for curves on surfaces [PDF]
The subject of this paper is the problem of arrangement of a real nonsingular algebraic curve on a real non-singular algebraic surface. This paper contains new restrictions on this arrangement extending Rokhlin and Kharlamov-Gudkov-Krakhnov congruences for curves on surfaces.
