EXPECTED TOPOLOGY OF RANDOM REAL ALGEBRAIC SUBMANIFOLDS [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of the Institute of Mathematics of Jussieu, 2013
Let $X$ be a smooth complex projective manifold of dimension $n$ equipped with an ample line bundle $L$ and a rank $k$ holomorphic vector bundle $E$. We assume that $1\leqslant k\leqslant n$, that $X$, $E$ and $L$ are defined over the reals and denote by

Breaking the Exponential: Decoherence‐Driven Power‐Law Spontaneous Emission in Waveguide Quantum Electrodynamics

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Introducing dynamical dephasing into the photon modes of a waveguide causes spontaneous emission to switch from conventional exponential decay to a robust power‐law behavior visible at short times. The power law arises from photon diffusion in a dynamically disordered environment, uncovering a previously unexplored, decoherence‐induced pathway to ...

Generalised Swan modules and the D(2) problem

open access: yes, 2006
We give a detailed proof that, for any natural number n, each algebraic two complex over C_n \times C_\infty is realised up to congruence by a geometric complex arising from a presentation for the group.Comment: This is the version published by Algebraic

Solvability of invariant systems of differential equations on H2$\mathbb {H}^2$ and beyond

open access: yesMathematische Nachrichten, EarlyView.
Abstract We show how the Fourier transform for distributional sections of vector bundles over symmetric spaces of non‐compact type G/K$G/K$ can be used for questions of solvability of systems of invariant differential equations in analogy to Hörmander's proof of the Ehrenpreis–Malgrange theorem.

The Algebraic Structure of Quantity Calculus II: Dimensional Analysis and Differential and Integral Calculus

open access: yesMeasurement Science Review, 2019
In a previous paper, the author has introduced and studied a new algebraic structure which accurately describes the algebra underlying quantity calculus.

Interaction of Dirac δ$$ \delta $$‐Waves in the Inviscid Levine and Sleeman Chemotaxis Model

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This article investigates interactions of δ$$ \delta $$‐shock waves in the inviscid Levine and Sleeman chemotaxis model ut−λ(uv)x=0$$ {u}_t-\lambda {(uv)}_x=0 $$, vt−ux=0$$ {v}_t-{u}_x=0 $$. The analysis employs a distributional product and a solution concept that extends the classical solution concept.

Involutions fixing HP1(2m)∪HP2(2m)∪HP(2n+1) of the fixed point set

open access: yesJournal of Hebei University of Science and Technology, 2015
Let (Mr,T) be a smooth closed manifold of dimension r with a smooth involution T whose fixed point set is F=HP1(2m)∪HP2(2m)∪HP(2n+1)(m≥1), where HP(n) denotes the n-dimensional quaternionic projective space.

Existence Analysis of a Three‐Species Memristor Drift‐Diffusion System Coupled to Electric Networks

open access: yesMathematical Methods in the Applied Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The existence of global weak solutions to a partial‐differential‐algebraic system is proved. The system consists of the drift‐diffusion equations for the electron, hole, and oxide vacancy densities in a memristor device, the Poisson equation for the electric potential, and the differential‐algebraic equations for an electric network.

Algebraic Tracking Network Topology Processor for Modern Power Systems

open access: yesIEEE Access
The growing deployment of Phasor Measurement Units (PMUs) in Electric Power Systems (EPSs) has led status measurements from switchable devices to be transmitted at high sampling rates, enabling rapid detection of switching events and continuous topology ...
