Varieties and algebraic algebras of bounded degree
Journal of Pure and Applied Algebra, 1998 Abstract We study varieties of associative algebras over an infinite field. We prove that any variety is generated by an algebraic algebra of bounded degree over a commutative algebra and determine when it can be generated by an algebraic algebra over a field. We also give upper and lower bounds for the minimal algebraic degree of the algebra Mn(G).
