Sufficient conditions of local solvability for partial differential operators on spaces of Colombeau type

open access: yesElectronic Journal of Differential Equations, 2009
We provide sufficient conditions of local solvability for partial differential operators with variable Colombeau coefficients. We mainly concentrate on operators which admit a right generalized pseudodifferential parametrix and on operators which are ...

Duality Identities for Moduli Functions of Generalized Melvin Solutions Related to Classical Lie Algebras of Rank 4

open access: yesAdvances in Mathematical Physics, 2018
We consider generalized Melvin-like solutions associated with nonexceptional Lie algebras of rank 4 (namely, A4, B4, C4, and D4) corresponding to certain internal symmetries of the solutions.

Hölder-Zygmund Regularity in Algebras of Generalized Functions

open access: yesZeitschrift für Analysis und ihre Anwendungen, 2004
We introduce an intrinsic notion of Hölder-Zygmund regularity for Colombeau generalized functions. In case of embedded distributions belonging to some Zygmund-Hölder space this is shown to be consistent. The definition is motivated by the well-known use of Littlewood-Paley decompositions in characterizing Hölder-Zygmund regularity for distributions. It

A Guide to Bayesian Optimization in Bioprocess Engineering

open access: yesBiotechnology and Bioengineering, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Bayesian optimization has become widely popular across various experimental sciences due to its favorable attributes: it can handle noisy data, perform well with relatively small data sets, and provide adaptive suggestions for sequential experimentation.

Noncommutative symmetric functions III: Deformations of Cauchy and convolution algebras

open access: yesDiscrete Mathematics & Theoretical Computer Science, 1997
This paper discusses various deformations of free associative algebras and of their convolution algebras. Our main examples are deformations of noncommutative symmetric functions related to families of idempotents in descent algebras, and a simple q-

Generalized Fourier Integral Operators on spaces of Colombeau type

open access: yes, 2008
Generalized Fourier integral operators (FIOs) acting on Colombeau algebras are defined. This is based on a theory of generalized oscillatory integrals (OIs) whose phase functions as well as amplitudes may be generalized functions of Colombeau type.

Subuniformity of harmonic mean p$$ p $$‐values

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract We obtain several inequalities on the generalized means of dependent p$$ p $$‐values. In particular, the weighted harmonic mean of p$$ p $$‐values is strictly subuniform under several dependence assumptions of p$$ p $$‐values, including independence, negative upper orthant dependence, the class of extremal mixture copulas, and some Clayton ...

W1+∞ and W˜ algebras, and Ward identities

open access: yesPhysics Letters B
It was demonstrated recently that the W1+∞ algebra contains commutative subalgebras associated with all integer slope rays (including the vertical one).

An observation‐driven state‐space model for claims size modelling

open access: yesCanadian Journal of Statistics, EarlyView.
Abstract State‐space models are popular in econometrics. Recently, these models have gained some popularity in the actuarial literature. The best known state‐space models are of the Kalman‐filter type. These are called parameter‐driven because the observations do not impact the state‐space dynamics.
