A probabilistic approach to apriori algorithm
International Journal of Granular Computing, Rough Sets and Intelligent Systems, 2010We consider the problem of applying probability concepts to discover frequent itemsets in a transaction database. The paper presents a probabilistic algorithm to discover association rules. The proposed algorithm outperforms the apriori algorithm for larger databases without losing a single rule.

Algorithmic Approaches to Setup Minimization
SIAM Journal on Computing, 1985Constructions of classes of ordered sets are given for which the setup minimization problem can be solved by an efficient algorithm. Those constructions generalize series-parallel connections. Special classes of ordered sets are exhibited for which the greedy algorithm yields an optimal linear extension.

An algorithmic approach to diagnosis of hypoglycemia
The Journal of Pediatrics, 1987An algorithm has been devised to facilitate the diagnostic approach to the causes of hypoglycemia. This systematic approach enables the physician to reach the final diagnosis in a logical way without subjecting the child to unnecessary and possibly hazardous investigations.

Subungual Tumors: An Algorithmic Approach
The Journal of Hand Surgery, 2019The presentation of benign and malignant subungual tumors often follows a final common pathway of nonspecific nail deformity; as such, delays in diagnosis are common. Therefore, it is imperative to have a high degree of suspicion for malignant lesions and an organized approach to subungual tumors.

Parallel Approach to the Firefly Algorithm
2018 XLIV Latin American Computer Conference (CLEI), 2018Distributed computing is a computation approach in which many calculations are made at the same time in a distributed memory model, exploring the fact that big problems can sometimes be divided into little ones that can be solved at the same time.

An algorithmic approach to event summarization
Proceedings of the 2010 ACM SIGMOD International Conference on Management of data, 2010Recently, much study has been directed toward summarizing event data, in the hope that the summary will lead us to a better understanding of the system that generates the events. However, instead of offering a global picture of the system, the summary obtained by most current approaches are piecewise, each describing an isolated snapshot of the system.

A Genetic Algorithms Approach to ILP
2003In a previous paper we introduced a framework for combining Genetic Algorithms with ILP which included a novel representation for clauses and relevant operators. In this paper we complete the proposed framework by introducing a fast evaluation mechanism. In this evaluation mechanism individuals can be evaluated at genotype level (i.e.
