A management algorithm for esophageal perforation

The American Journal of Surgery, 2007
Despite the prolonged morbidity caused by a major surgery and the high occurrence of continued leakage, primary repair has been the standard treatment for esophageal perforations. We believe that management using removable esophageal stents is both simpler and more effective.

Cutaneous anthrax management algorithm

Journal of the American Academy of Dermatology, 2002
AAD Ad Hoc Task Force on Bioterrorism: This algorithm for cutaneous anthrax is intended to offer physicians the Task Force’s current recommendations for treating this disease. It is not intended to establish a legal standard of care. Adherence to these guidelines will not ensure successful treatment in every situation.

Newer Algorithms in Bradycardia Management

Cardiology Clinics, 2014
Permanent cardiac pacemakers (PPM) are effective in the treatment of bradycardia in a growing number of clinical scenarios. An appreciation of the capacity of PPMs to result in negative hemodynamic and proarrhythmic effects has grown alongside clinical experience with permanent pacing.

An Algorithm for the Management of Ureteral Calculi

Journal of Urology, 1986
We evaluated 158 patients with ureteral calculi (28 impacted in the ureteropelvic junction, 42 in the upper, 29 middle and 36 lower third of the ureter, and 23 in the intramural tunnel) treated by extracorporeal shock wave lithotripsy, percutaneous ultrasonic lithotripsy, ureteroscopic methods, chemolysis or surgery.

An Algorithm for Buffer Cache Management

2009 Sixth International Conference on Information Technology: New Generations, 2009
This paper proposes an algorithm for buffer cache management with pre-fetching. The buffer cache contains two units, the main cache unit and pre-fetch unit. The sizes of both the units are fixed. The total sizes of both the units are a constant. Blocks are fetched in one block look ahead pre-fetch principle. The block placement and replacement policies

The Algorithmic Management

The aim of this chapter is to provide insights into the future development of HRM in the post pandemic tourism contexts, focusing on the concept of algorithmic management. The chapter explores how algorithms are used in performance monitoring and rewards in the case of Airbnb and the implications of this for its hosts.

An Algorithm for Dynamic Color Management

Computer Graphics Forum, 1998
Though the problem of color quantization in static images is not completely solved, there are a few algorithms that produce good results. Color quantization with dynamic color requests is an unsolved problem. In this paper we present an algorithm that manages dynamic color allocations without advance knowledge of the sequence of color requests. It uses

Algorithms for Management of Chronic Rhinosinusitis

Otolaryngologic Clinics of North America, 2005
Chronic rhinosinusitis poses numerous challenges for the practitioner. This article presents strategies for making the diagnosis and managing chronic rhinosinusitis with and without nasal polyposis, and for assessing and managing disease persisting or recur-ring after endoscopic sinus surgery.
