SpliceTAPyR — An Efficient Method for Transcriptome Alignment

International Journal of Foundations of Computer Science, 2018
RNA-Seq is a Next-Generation Sequencing (NGS) protocol for sequencing the messenger RNA in a cell and generates millions of short sequence fragments, reads, in a single run. These reads can be used to measure levels of gene expression and to identify novel splice variants of genes.

Iterative progressive alignment method (IPAM) for multiple sequence alignment

2009 International Conference on Computers & Industrial Engineering, 2009
In order to design life saving drugs, such as cancer drugs, the design of Protein or DNA structures have to be accurate. These structures depend on Multiple Sequence Alignment (MSA). MSA is a combinatorial optimization problem which is used to find the accurate structure of Protein and DNA sequences from the existing sequences.

Ligand Aligning Method for Molecular Docking: Alignment of Property-Weighted Vectors

Journal of Chemical Information and Modeling, 2012
To reduce searching effort in conformational space of ligand docking positions, we propose an algorithm that generates initial binding positions of the ligand in a target protein, based on the property-weighted vector (P-weiV), the three-dimensional orthogonal vector determined by the molecular property of hydration-free energy density.

Precise alignment method for MAORY

Modeling, Systems Engineering, and Project Management for Astronomy VIII, 2018
MAORY (Multi-conjugate Adaptive Optics RelaY) and MICADO (MCAO Imaging CamerA for Deep Observations) will perform the science in the Multi-conjugate Adaptive Optics mode of the ELT (Extremely Large Telescope). One of their goals is the multi-object differential astrometry which requires low optical distortion and diffraction limited aberrations.

EUVL projection-camera alignment methods

SPIE Proceedings, 1999
Comparison of misalignment modes associated with metrology data nd projection-camera performance can be used to increase the sensitivity of metrology measurements to specific camera-performance specifications such as chief-ray distortion. Selection of measurable misalignment modes in the case of metrology and interesting misalignment modes in the case ...

Methods for Ontology Alignment Change

2018
Different repositories of ontology are available on the web to share common understandings of the knowledge of different domains with semantic web applications. They store, index, organize, and share ontologies and alignments between them that allow applications to search for and use the appropriate semantics on the fly.
