Moiré-Based Alignment Using Centrosymmetric Grating Marks for High-Precision Wafer Bonding

open access: yesMicromachines, 2019
High-precision aligned wafer bonding is essential to heterogeneous integration, with the device dimension reduced continuously. To get the alignment more accurately and conveniently, we propose a moiré-based alignment method using centrosymmetric ...

Structural insights into lacto‐N‐biose I recognition by a family 32 carbohydrate‐binding module from Bifidobacterium bifidum

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Bifidobacterium bifidum establishes symbiosis with infants by metabolizing lacto‐N‐biose I (LNB) from human milk oligosaccharides (HMOs). The extracellular multidomain enzyme LnbB drives this process, releasing LNB via its catalytic glycoside hydrolase family 20 (GH20) lacto‐N‐biosidase domain.

Molecular bases of circadian magnesium rhythms across eukaryotes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Circadian rhythms in intracellular [Mg2+] exist across eukaryotic kingdoms. Central roles for Mg2+ in metabolism suggest that Mg2+ rhythms could regulate daily cellular energy and metabolism. In this Perspective paper, we propose that ancestral prokaryotic transport proteins could be responsible for mediating Mg2+ rhythms and posit a feedback model ...

Automatic Texture Alignment by Optimization Method

open access: yesMicroscopy and Microanalysis
Abstract Microstructure analysis via electron backscatter diffraction has become an indispensable tool in materials science and engineering. In order to interpret or predict the anisotropy in crystalline materials, the texture is assessed, e.g. via pole figure diagrams.

Interplay between circadian and other transcription factors—Implications for cycling transcriptome reprogramming

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
This perspective highlights emerging insights into how the circadian transcription factor CLOCK:BMAL1 regulates chromatin architecture, cooperates with other transcription factors, and coordinates enhancer dynamics. We propose an updated framework for how circadian transcription factors operate within dynamic and multifactorial chromatin landscapes ...

Nonlinear methods for frame alignment

open access: yesElectronics Letters, 1996
The optimal way of searching for a frame alignment word in a frame of data, given quantised, noise-corrupted observations of the constituent symbols is derived. The four level quantisation scheme retains most of the benefits of the optimal unquantised scheme, but is only slightly more complex than the digital correlator.

Alignment Methods in Rotating Equipment

open access: yesInternational Journal of Innovative Science and Research Technology, 2020
This research provides an analysis about the need to implement innovative alignment techniques and to diversify the methods to carry it out, if there is outdated equipment, misalignment becomes more recurrent and this causes the equipment to present failures as high vibration, high temperature, product leaks, excessive energy consumption and wear of ...

Disordered but rhythmic—the role of intrinsic protein disorder in eukaryotic circadian timing

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Unstructured domains known as intrinsically disordered regions (IDRs) are present in nearly every part of the eukaryotic core circadian oscillator. IDRs enable many diverse inter‐ and intramolecular interactions that support clock function. IDR conformations are highly tunable by post‐translational modifications and environmental conditions, which ...
