Adsorption of Alizarin Red S Dye on Raw Endoskeleton Nanopowder of Cuttlefish (Sepia Pharaonis) from Water Solutions: Mechanism, Kinetics and Equilibrium Modeling [PDF]
The potential of the raw cuttlebone nano-powder (CBNP), a biomass waste, as a novel and nontoxic adsorbent for the adsorption of Alizarin Red S (ARS) from water solutions was investigated.

In vivo staining with alizarin for ageing studies on chondrichthyan fishes
Age determination for stock assessments and conservation of cartilaginous fishes is mainly obtained by counting the annual growth bands in vertebrae. Recent studies show numerous inconsistencies and the need for systematic validation.

REMOVAL OF ALIZARIN RED S FROM AQUEOUS SOLUTION USING SODIUM BENTONITE [PDF]
In this work, sodium bentonite (Bn) was used for removal of alizarin red S (ARS) from aqueous solution using batch technique. Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy and X-ray diffraction were used to characterize sodium bentonite.

Most of the πl,π* bands of metal alizarinates are shown to be due to the 2,9- or 1,2-anthraquinoid structures. Bimetallic alizarinates with the 9,10-anthraquinoid structure are not formed because of the adjacent negatively charged oxygen atoms. The long-standing dispute concerning the structure of red metal alizarinates is solved: complexation always ...

Optimization of the Alizarin Red S Assay by Enhancing Mineralization of Osteoblasts
The alizarin red S assay is considered the gold standard for quantification of osteoblast mineralization and is thus widely used among scientists. However, there are several restrictions to this method, e.g., moderate sensitivity makes it difficult to uncover slight but significant effects of potentially clinically relevant substances.

Spectrophotometric determination of ceterizine hydrochloride with Alizarin Red S
A simple, rapid and sensitive spectrophotometric method has been developed for the assay of ceterizine hydrochloride (CTZH) in bulk drug and its pharmaceutical preparations. This method is based on the ion-pair complex reaction between CTZH and Alizarin Red S in Clarks-Lubs buffer.

Voltammetric determination of boron by using Alizarin Red S
A novel voltammetric method for boron determination in ppb level is described. Boron complexes with Alizarin Red S (ARS) and the complex, as well as the free ligand, both adsorbs on a hanging mercury drop electrode. The method is based on the monitoring the anodic peak of the complex at -0.47 V in ammonium acetate-phosphate buffer (pH 7).
