Effect of Carbonation on Alkali‐Activated Slag Paste
Journal of the American Ceramic Society, 2006Carbonation on waterglass‐ and NaOH‐activated slag pastes was analyzed and compared with carbonation in Portland cement pastes to determine possible differences. Thermogravimetry‐differential thermal analysis (TG/DTA), Fourier‐transform infrared spectrometry, and nuclear magnetic resonance were used to ...

Alkali Activated Slag And Portland/Slag Ultrafine Cement
MRS Proceedings, 1989AbstractUltrafine Alkali Activated Slag (AAS) and Portland/Slag (P/S) cements have been commercially available in the United States for 2 and 5 years, respectively. Ultrafine cements have been the subject of research at Northwestern University for 6 years.Particle size of the ultrafine slag cement is characterized by 98% passing at 7 microns and a D50 ...

Solidification of nitrate solutions with alkali-activated slag and slag–metakaolin cements
Journal of Nuclear Materials, 2015© 2014 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved. The solidification of nitrate solutions with alkali-activated slag (AASC) and slag-metakaolin cements (AASMC) and the resulting setting times, compressive strengths, dimensional stability, water resistance, hydration products, microstructures, and macroporous network structures were evaluated. The influences of

Alkali activation of Australian slag cements
Cement and Concrete Research, 1999Abstract Investigation of alkali activation of Australian slag (AAS) was carried out using sodium silicate, sodium hydroxide, sodium carbonate, sodium phosphate, and combinations of these activators. Compressive strengths in the range from 20 to 40 MPa were achieved for the pastes. The most effective activator was liquid sodium silicate.

Composite foamed alkali-activated concrete with slag and steel slag
Magazine of Concrete Research, 2020Thermally expandable foaming microspheres (FMS) are used as a foaming agent in many different fields due to their excellent dimensional stability and elastic properties. In this study, lightweight thermal insulation materials were prepared by adding FMS to foamed concrete containing alkali-activated steel slag and blast-furnace slag.

Influence of hydrated lime on mechanical and shrinkage properties of alkali-activated slag cement
, 2021Alkali-activated slag (AAS) cement activated by water glass (WG) has a high compressive strength, however, its high shrinkage restricts its popularization and application.
