Linear alkali correlation in oceanic alkali basalts
A strong positive correlation was found between Na2O and K2O in basic alkali rocks from the Hawaiian Islands and Canary Islands. The correlated variance of the variables in each province is 79 % and 76 %, respectively. Six possible explanations were examined.

An adhesive hydrogel depot with polyphenol‐armored nanogenes is developed for treating aged osteoarthritis. This system maintains miR‐140 bioactivity, prolongs its intra‐articular retention, and enhances transfection into chondrocytes, leading to the downregulation of senescence‐associated pathways.

Thermochemical Micro‐Explosion for Prompt Thrombolysis via Proximal Injection of Liquid Alkali Metal
We report a micro‐explosive thermochemical thrombolysis (METCT) therapy via injectable liquid alkali metal encapsulated in dimethyl silicone (LAM@oil). METCT enables prompt and safe vascular recanalization within 90 s. Critically, the LAM@oil system demonstrates significantly higher thrombolytic efficacy compared to clinically available thrombolytic ...

Protocols for investigating the reactivity of aggregates and alkali thresholds for ASR prevention [PDF]
Alkali in concrete pore solution and reactive silica in aggregate are integral features required for alkalisilica reaction (ASR). When high amounts of alkali are present, expansive ASR gel forms that cause cracking of concrete.
