Origin and formation of a chondritic xenolith in Krymka (LL3.2, breccia): Indications for a late formation of the accretionary breccia

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 2016-2047, August 2026.
Abstract An unusual chondritic xenolith was found in two sequentially prepared thin sections of a sample from the Krymka (LL3.2) chondrite. The xenolith has a rounded, slightly deformed shape of about 5 mm in apparent diameter and is partially surrounded by a double rim made of an inner fine‐grained silicate‐rich rim and an outer sulfide‐rich rim.

Potassium isotopic compositions and exposure ages of evolved and silica‐rich achondrites

open access: yesMeteoritics &Planetary Science, Volume 61, Issue 8, Page 2140-2162, August 2026.
Abstract Some of the oldest igneous rocks in the Solar System include evolved and silica‐rich achondrites that originate from parent bodies less than 1000 km in diameter, referred to as planetesimals. While Earth was initially in a molten state and required continental crust formation and plate tectonics to generate andesite bulk compositions, evolved ...

Atomic Simulations of Volatile Coverage on Silicate Surfaces

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, Volume 53, Issue 14, 28 July 2026.
Abstract Understanding how surface processes shape exosphere formation on airless bodies is limited by how surface properties influence the ejection of volatiles such as Na. Recent studies show that retention and release are sensitive to surface binding energy (SBE), motivating the need for SBE values as a function of mineral type and surface coverage.

Experiment on New Comprehensive Recovery of Micro-fine Particle Low-grade Refractory Tantalum Niobium Lithium Resources

open access: yesKuangchan zonghe liyong
The fine-grained low-grade tail mud of the Yichun tantalum niobium ore contains 0.17% Li2O,0.007 1% Ta2O5,0.007 8% Nb2O5, and whiteness is 24.20%. Mineralogical studies indicate that tantalum-niobium minerals and lithium mica particles in the tailings ...

Study on the characteristics of rubidium and cesium carrier minerals in the beneficiation process of lithium-bearing clay

open access: yesResults in Engineering
Rubidium (Rb) and cesium (Cs), as rare alkali metals, play a critical role in high-tech industries. However, their efficient extraction from associated mineral resources is challenging, especially in lithium-bearing clays due to fine-grained ...
