Trace element distributions between the perthite phases of alkali feldspars from pegmatites

open access: closedMineralogical Magazine, 1982
AbstractThe distribution of various trace elements between the K-feldspar and albite phases of perthites from several pegmatites was determined by ion microprobe. Ranges in distribution coefficients (wt. % in K-feldspar/wt. % in albite) are: Li, 1.2–780; Mg, 0.2–1.1; P, 0.1–17; Ca, 0.02–1.6; Cs, 32–820; Ba, 24–284; Pb, 1.6–30; Fe, 0.3–0.7; Rb, 59–5505;

Minerals of the gadolinite-(Y)-hingganite-(Y) series in the alkali granite pegmatites of the Kola Peninsula

open access: closedGeology of Ore Deposits, 2014
Minerals of the gadolinite-(Y)-hingganite-(Y) series pertaining to the gadolinite-datolite group have been found in the alkali granite pegmatites of the Kola Peninsula. Gadolinite-(Y) is distinguished by its unique natural crystalline state. The unit-cell parameters of this mineral have elevated values as compared with those of gadolinite-(Y) from ...

Alkali metal and rare earth element evolution of rock-forming minerals from the Gatumba area pegmatites (Rwanda): Quantitative assessment of crystal-melt fractionation in the regional zonation of pegmatite groups

open access: closedGeochimica et Cosmochimica Acta, 2014
Abstract This study presents a general model for the evaluation of Rayleigh fractional crystallisation as the principal differentiation mechanism in the formation of regionally zoned common and rare-element pegmatites. The magmatic evolution of these systems from a granitic source is reconstructed by means of alkali element and rare earth element ...

Theoretical studies of the alteration of spodumene, petalite, eucryptite and pollucite in granitic pegmatites: exchange reactions with alkali feldspars

open access: closedContributions to Mineralogy and Petrology, 1993
The ratios Na/Li, K/Li, Na/Cs and K/Cs have been calculated for exchange equilibria among the Li and Cs silicates spodumene, petalite, eucryptite, and pollucite, and the alkali feldspars albite and K-feldspar plus quartz, in pure water and in chloride solutions at temperatures from 100° to 700°C and pressures from 0.5 to 4 kbar, using available ...

Distribution of rare alkali metals in chamber pegmatites as criterion in prospecting for optical fluorite and piezoquartz

open access: closedInternational Geology Review, 1965
The distribution of rubidium and cesium in microcline-perthite was studied in five topaz- and fluorite-bearing zoned pegmatites. Determinations of mineral paragenesis aided in the interpretation of the results of the rare alkali metal determinations. The study lead to the following conclusions: 1) The Rb content in zoned fluorite and topaz pegmatites ...

Hydrated CO3-Bearing Analog of Manganoeudialyte from Alkali Pegmatites of the Konder Pluton, Khabarovsk Krai

open access: closedGeology of Ore Deposits, 2018
The chemical composition, crystal structure, and infrared (IR) spectrum of a hydrated CO3-bearing analog of manganoeudialyte from alkali pegmatites of the Konder pluton (Khabarovsk krai) are studied. The chemical composition of the mineral corresponds to the formula N[Na6.94H2O5.13(Y,REE)0.58.
