Turbidity in alkali feldspars from granitic pegmatites
Alkali feldspars from pegmatite of Brazil and Spain have microscopic to submicroscopic inclusions giving a >turbid> and >clouded> appearance. Inclusions are isotropic, irregular and spatially associated with patch/vein lamellae in network and/Or isolated masses. Inclusions have no detectable lines in XRD and microprobe analyses show strong variability:

ABSTRACT The youngest known ultrahigh‐pressure (UHP) eclogite from Tumagabuna Island, a small island of the D'Entrecasteaux Islands chain in Papua New Guinea, exhibits zircon U–Pb age variations spanning a few million years. Abstract Stable and inert under most conditions, zircon can be dissolved and precipitated by aqueous fluids in the upper crust. Geochemical models using currently available thermodynamic properties for Zr aqueous species at 0.2 GPa predict that zircon solubility increases with temperature from 400 to 900°C in fluids saturated with quartz or baddeleyite.
