Alkaline chitosan solutions

Carbohydrate Research, 2003
Rigid and transparent hydrogels were obtained upon pouring chitosan salt solutions into saturated ammonium hydrogen carbonate. Incubation at 20 degrees C for 5 days yielded chitosan carbamate ammonium salt, Chit-NHCO(2)(-)NH(4)(+) a chemical species that either by hydrolysis or by thermal treatment decomposed to restore chitosan in free amine form ...

Leukocyte alkaline phosphatase

American Journal of Hematology, 1978
In summary, LAP is an intriguing enzyme and its control is related to pituitary-adrenal function. A review of the changes in LAP activity which occur in some physiological conditions and in disease states has been presented. The function of LAP, however, is unknown.

Peanut alkaline lipase

Lipids, 1975
AbstractPeanut alkaline lipase, (glycerol ester hydrolase EC 3.1.1.3), pH optimum 8.5, was isolated from acetone powders prepared from developing and germinated peanut seed (Arachis hypogaea L. var. NC‐2). Enzyme activity/seed increased in successive developmental stages.

Alkaline gastroesophageal reflux

The American Journal of Surgery, 1978
Abstract Twenty-four hour monitoring provides a continuous record of the pH of the lower esophagus in a near physiologic setting. The upper level of physiologic reflux was determined from the percentage of time and the number of episodes that the pH was less than 4 or more than 7 and the mean duration of each episode in fifteen asymptomatic subjects.

REFLUX ALKALINE GASTRITIS

American Journal of Roentgenology, 1972
One of the postoperative complications of gastric surgery is the reflux of pancreatic and biliary secretions, causing alkaline gastritis which develops in the presence of hypoacidity or achlorhydria. The diagnosis is usually made by gastroscopy and biopsy.Inflammation and/or ulceration occurs on the gastric side of the anastomosis in contrast to ...

Alkaline Active Hemicellulases

2019
Xylan and mannan are the two most abundant hemicelluloses, and enzymes that modify these polysaccharides are prominent hemicellulases with immense biotechnological importance. Among these enzymes, xylanases and mannanases which play the vital role in the hydrolysis of xylan and mannan, respectively, attracted a great deal of interest.
