Fluid or Melt? Distinguishing Syn‐Deformational Interaction Pathways
ABSTRACT Understanding whether deformation occurred in the presence of aqueous fluid or silicate melt is crucial for interpreting ductile shear zones, impacting their thermal and geochemical evolution, and having rheological consequences. To identify the syn‐deformational fluid type, we investigate contrasting shear zones active during the Alice ...

The 40Ar/39Ar method determined the age of sanidine from high-potassium trachyte fragments of pipe fluid-explosive breccia. Fluid-explosive breccia breaks through the basalts of the Early Devonian Kanino-Timan complex.

A Paleotectonic Atlas of the African Plate: Permian to Recent
ABSTRACT The fragmentary release of petroleum data defining the deep structure and stratigraphy of African basins has been integrated with existing literature to compile 19 tectonic maps over key geological intervals from Permian to Recent times. African plate margins range in their age of opening from Late Triassic (off Lebanon), through Early/Middle ...

Permian 40Ar/39Ar ages for post-Variscan minor intrusions in the Iberian Range and Spanish Central System [PDF]
40Ar/39Ar dating of biotite from a calc-alkaline gabbro stock NW of Loscos in the Iberian Range yielded a slightly disturbed gas release spectrum. It has an early Permian, 288.5 ± 1.4 Ma total gas age, interpreted as the minimum emplacement age. The 40Ar/

Abstract The uplift history of the Gangdese arc in Southern Tibet is fundamental to understanding when and how the plateau attained its current elevation and topographic relief. Detrital multi‐mineral provenance analysis of the Oligocene–Miocene strata in the intermontane Wuyu Basin provides new key information on the paleodrainage evolution in ...

Abstract The Andean margin of Central Chile (∼32°40′–34°30′S) records abundant Cenozoic arc magmatic activity with variable compositional characteristics. This is examined through the analysis of an extensive database of new and published whole‐rock geochemistry and Sr‐Nd isotopic compositions, in addition to zircon Hf and O isotopic compositions.

Abstract We present a comprehensive study of a new Martian meteorite, Northwest Africa (NWA) 16788, found in the Sahara Desert in July 2023. This specimen constitutes the largest known individual meteorite of Martian origin, with a total weight of ⁓25 kg. A detailed mineralogical and geochemical investigation identifies NWA 16788 as an enriched olivine
