Effect of temperature and branching on the nature and stability of alkene cracking intermediates in H-ZSM-5 [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Catalytic cracking of alkenes takes place at elevated temperatures in the order of 773–833 K. In this work, the nature of the reactive intermediates at typical reaction conditions is studied in H-ZSM-5 using a complementary set of modeling tools.

Shedding Light on Synthetic Autocatalysis: From Conventional Closed‐Shell Chemistries to Overlooked Open‐Shell Occurrences

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Why add another catalyst when the product itself holds the power to catalyze its own formation? Autocatalysis in synthetic chemistry enhances reaction efficiency and uncovers novel catalytic behavior across both closed‐shell and open‐shell systems, expanding reactivity and enabling innovative design strategies.

Influence of surfactants on the structure of titanium oxide gels : experiments and simulations

open access: yes, 1995
We report here on experimental and numerical studies of the influence of surfactants on mineral gel synthesis. The modification of the gel structure when the ratios water-precursor and water-surfactant vary is brought to the fore by fractal dimension ...

Thermal behaviour of CpCuPEt3 in gas phase and Cu thin films processing [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
Decomposition of CpCuPEt3 (Cp=NNN(η5-C5H5)) and MOCVD of Cu films from CpCuPEt3 have been investigated in the frame of an ongoing project on the processing of Cu-containing coatings.

One‐Pot Transition‐Metal‐Free Methods for the Synthesis of All Three Bonds of the Alkyne's Triple Bond

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
One‐pot transition‐metal‐free methods for the synthesis of all three bonds of the alkyne's triple bond are reviewed. After analysis of several named reactions and discussion of improvements, recent advances in the synthesis of alkynes are discussed. Each section contains a proposed reaction mechanism and analysis of the strengths and weaknesses of the ...

Sol–gel synthesis and characterization of barium (magnesium) aluminosilicate glass sealants for solid oxide fuel cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Solid oxide fuel cells (SOFC) correspond to efficient energy conversion systems coupled with low emissions of pollutants. In the aim to fabricate high temperature planar SOFC, glass and glass-ceramic sealants are developed to associate several criteria ...

Fluorescent Diarylethenes With Polar Groups: Synthesis, Spectra, and Optical Microscopy Applications

open access: yesChemistry – A European Journal, EarlyView.
Blinking green and flashing red: photo‐switchable and photo‐activatable probes emitting green and red light were prepared and applied as bioconjugates in super‐resolution optical microscopy. ABSTRACT The use of photoactivatable fluorescent diarylethenes (fDAEs) in biology‐related light microscopy has been restricted by the lack of probes having freely ...

Application of hydrophobic fluorinated silicon oxide nanoparticle coating on electrodynamic screen (EDS) films for enhancing self-cleaning function of solar collectors [PDF]

open access: yes, 2020
Optical surfaces, which are exposed to outdoor environmental conditions, are susceptible to dust deposition. Sunlight incident on the surface of photovoltaic (PV) modules is attenuated by the dust layer accumulation on the front surface of the modules ...

Hydroprocessing of synthetic kerosene over a non‐sulphided Ni/Al2O3 catalyst: Impact of alcohols and ketones on alkene conversion

open access: yesThe Canadian Journal of Chemical Engineering, EarlyView.
Abstract Synthetic jet fuel containing non‐petroleum‐derived kerosene can be produced from synthetic kerosene obtained through processes that include a hydroprocessing step. The potential use of non‐sulphided (reduced) nickel supported on alumina (Ni/Al2O3) was evaluated as an alternative to sulphided catalysts to saturate alkenes in sulphur‐free ...
