Aluminosilicates compacts by alkoxide route: influence of Ba addition
The sol-gel route was employed to obtain three different powders with the stoichiometric composition corresponding to mullite (3 Al2O3.2SiO2): (i) commercial alumina and silica from sol-gel, (ii) alumina and silica by alkoxide partial hydrolysis, (iii ...

Precursor type affecting surface properties and catalytic activity of sulfated zirconia [PDF]
Zirconium-hydroxide precursor samples are synthesized from Zr-hydroxide, Zr-nitrate, and Zr-alkoxide, by precipitation/impregnation, as well as by a modified sol-gel method. Precursor samples are further sulphated for the intended SO4 2- content of 4 wt.%

Potentialities of the sol-gel route to develop cathode and electrolyte thick layers Application to SOFC systems [PDF]
In this work, we report the potential of sol–gel process to prepare cathode and electrolyte thin and thick layers on anodic NiO-YSZ supports which were also made from powders prepared by sol–gel route.

Biocatalytic Regioselective C‐Formylation of Resorcinol Derivatives
An acyltransferase from Chromobacterium sphagni (CsATase) was identified that catalyzes the regioselective formylation of resorcinol substrates. The formylation of substituted resorcinol derivatives yielded mono‐formylated products with up to 99% conversion and up to 74% isolated yield.

Molecular structure of dimeric ethoxytin trichloride ethanol solvate
The title compound Sn2Cl6(OEt)2(HOEt)2, accidentally obtained as a side product from the reaction of 2,6-Mes2C6H3Li with SnCl4 in Et2O, was investigated by single crystal X-ray diffraction.

Unexpected C–O Bond Cleavage by a Copper–Phosphido Compound
Copper methoxide compound IPrCuOMe was unexpectedly formed in a reaction of IPrCuPPh2 with methyl acrylate. The alkoxide product was identified from the reaction mixture spectroscopically and structurally characterized.

Use of metal catalysts bearing Schiff base macrocycles for the ring opening polymerization (ROP) of cyclic esters [PDF]
© 2017 by the authors. Schiff base macrocycles are emerging as useful scaffolds for binding two or more catalytic metals in close proximity. Such coordination chemistry allows for the evaluation of potentially beneficial catalytic cooperative effects. In
