Chiral Bilayer All-Dielectric Metasurfaces
ACS Nano, 2020Three-dimensional chiral plasmonic metasurfaces were demonstrated to offer enormous potential for ultrathin circular polarizers and applications in chiral sensing. However, the large absorption losses in the metallic systems generally limit their applicability for high-efficiency devices.

2015 11th Conference on Lasers and Electro-Optics Pacific Rim (CLEO-PR), 2015
In this talk, I will discuss our recent efforts to develop purely dielectric metamaterials possessing low absorption loss at optical frequencies. I will discuss implementations ranging from wavefront control to high Q-factor resonances.

Nonlinear Holographic All-Dielectric Metasurfaces
Nano Letters, 2018Nonlinear holographic metasurfaces have been intensively studied due to their potentials in practical applications. So far, nonlinear holographic metasurfaces have only been realized with plasmonic nanoantennas, suffering from high absorption loss and low damage threshold. Herein we propose and experimentally demonstrate a novel mechanism for nonlinear

Fano Resonances in All-Dielectric Oligomers
We demonstrate that light scattering by all-dielectric oligomers exhibits well-pronounced Fano resonances with strong suppression of the scattering cross section. Our analysis reveals that this type of the Fano resonance originates from the optically induced magnetic dipole modes of individual high-dielectric nanoparticles.

An All-Dielectric Coaxial Waveguide
Science, 2000An all-dielectric coaxial waveguide that can overcome problems of polarization rotation and pulse broadening in the transmission of optical light is presented here. It consists of a coaxial waveguiding region with a low index of refraction, bounded by two cylindrical, dielectric, multilayer, omnidirectional reflecting mirrors.

All-dielectric bianisotropic metasurfaces
2017 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2017The realization of bianisotropic responses with all-dielectric metasurfaces is investigated, and a systematic design approach is developed. It is shown that by cascading anisotropic dielectric layers (subwavelength gratings) one can achieve bianisotropic responses.

All-Dielectric Wireless Receiver
2007 IEEE/MTT-S International Microwave Symposium, 2007High power microwave (HPM) weapons and other sources of intense microwave power pose a growing threat to modern RF receivers. To address this problem, an all-dielectric photonic-assisted receiver is proposed and demonstrated. The device consists of a dielectric resonator antenna that concentrates and feeds the signal onto a resonant electro-optic field

Multifunctional All-Dielectric Metasurfaces
2018 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation & USNC/URSI National Radio Science Meeting, 2018Cascaded dielectric metasurfaces that provide distinct polarization conversion/control at different bands are introduced. A step-by-step design approach is presented to realize a wide range of polarization transformations with metasurfaces employing simple geometries.

All-Dielectric Compound Metaoptics
2019 IEEE International Symposium on Antennas and Propagation and USNC-URSI Radio Science Meeting, 2019Lossless, reflectionless metasurfaces are generally limited to impressing phase shifts onto incident wavefronts, and can therefore only manipulate their phase profiles. However, two such metasurfaces placed along a common axis form a compound metaoptic, and can convert an incident complex-valued field to a desired complex-valued field.
