Advances in All-Solid-State Passively Q-Switched Lasers Based on Cr4+:YAG Saturable Absorber

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
All-solid-state passively Q-switched lasers have advantages that include simple structure, high peak power, and short sub-nanosecond pulse width. Potentially, these lasers can be applied in multiple settings, such as in miniature light sources, laser ...

Theoretical investigation of controlled generation of a dense attosecond relativistic electron bunch from the interaction of an ultrashort laser pulse with a nanofilm [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
For controllable generation of an isolated attosecond relativistic electron bunch [relativistic electron mirror (REM)] with nearly solid-state density, we propose using a solid nanofilm illuminated normally by an ultraintense femtosecond laser pulse ...

Elimination of Chaos in Multimode, Intracavity-doubled Lasers in the Presence of Spatial Hole-burning

open access: yes, 2000
In this paper possibilities of a stabilization of large amplitude fluctuations in an intracavity-doubled solid-state laser are studied. The modification of the cross-saturation coefficient by the effect of spatial hole-burning is taken into account.

Solid-state Lidar with wide steering angle using counter-propagating beams

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2023
In a solid-state photonics-based Lidar, all essential components can be integrated into a silicon chip. It is simple and effective to use a tunable laser source to implement Lidar’s beam steering.

Kerr-Lens Mode-Locked Femtosecond Yb:GdYSiO5 Laser Directly Pumped by a Laser Diode

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2015
We demonstrate the first Kerr-lens mode-locked operation in a diode-pumped Yb:GdYSiO5 oscillator. Under a diode pump power of 5 W, 141 fs pulses with an average power of 237 mW were obtained at a repetition rate of 118 MHz.
