230 mW of blue light from a thulium-doped upconversion fiber laser [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
We demonstrate a powerful diode-pumped blue laser source, consisting of a 7W diode at 807nm that pumps a Nd:YAG laser giving 1.6W with good beam quality at 1123nm, and a thulium-doped upconversion fiber laser.

Optical Coherence Tomography Following Panretinal Photocoagulation Demonstrating Choroidal Detachment

open access: yesPhotonics, 2022
Retinal laser therapy such as panretinal photocoagulation can be associated with complications, including rare cases of choroidal detachment. This report describes high-resolution optical coherence tomography (OCT) imaging after retinal laser panretinal ...

Printability conditions for an all-solid-state laser transfer

open access: yesApplied Surface Science, 2020
Several laser technologies exist capable of adding solid materials to a targeted area of a substrate, including photopolymerization, laser sintering, or laser-induced forward transfer. However, the added material normally undergoes a phase change, causing adverse effects such as shrinkage, stress, or degradation.

Advances in All-Solid-State Passively Q-Switched Lasers Based on Cr4+:YAG Saturable Absorber

open access: yesPhotonics, 2021
All-solid-state passively Q-switched lasers have advantages that include simple structure, high peak power, and short sub-nanosecond pulse width. Potentially, these lasers can be applied in multiple settings, such as in miniature light sources, laser ...

Diode-pumped solid state laser light sources for confocal laser scanning fluorescence microscopy

open access: yes, 2008
Diode-pumped solid-state lasers (DPSSLs) have been integrated as light sources in confocal laser scanning microscopy (CLSM). The standard argon ion laser at 488 rim is compared with a DPSSL operating at 473 run in terms of noise and CLSM image ...

Solid-State Laser Refrigeration at GPa Pressures

open access: yes, 2020
Although solid-state laser-refrigeration recently has been demonstrated to reach cryogenic temperatures in vacuum, to date the solid-state laser refrigeration of materials at elevated pressure conditions has remained unexplored.

Developmental programmes drive cellular plasticity, disease progression and therapy resistance in lung adenocarcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
This study shows that lung adenocarcinomas exploit developmental branching morphogenesis to acquire a therapy resistant basal‐like tumour cell state. This process was found to be regulated by combined TP53 loss‐of‐function and type‐I interferon signalling, identifying a novel axis for biomarker and therapeutic target discovery.

USP29‐regulated noncanonical stabilization of the hypoxia‐inducible factor‐α in aggressive prostate cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
We identify USP29 as the only DUB mirroring CA9 expression, a marker of hypoxia and HIF pathway activation associated with PCA aggressiveness. USP29 stabilizes HIF‐1α and HIF‐2α via a noncanonical mechanism that is independent of PHD/pVHL activity yet relies on proteasomal regulation, establishing USP29 as a previously unrecognized regulator of hypoxic
