Dynamics of a host-parasitoid model with Allee effect for the host and parasitoid aggregation

In this paper, a discrete-time host–parasitoid model is investigated. Two biological phenomena, the Allee effect of the host population and the aggregation of the parasitism, are considered in our mathematical model.

250,000 observations of 7 annual, 11 biennial and 4 flexible lepidoptera species in the Alps and over 150,000 observations of 5 biennial species from Scandinavia were analysed. Maps show distinct patterns of different species that fly predominantly in odd or even years in the researched areas.
