Electrochemically‐Assisted Low Power Density Laser Writing on Stainless Steel via Enrichment of Chromium Oxides

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, EarlyView.
This research describes the invention of a new method to color the surface of stainless steel with brown to blue hues at micron resolution using a low‐power laser. This method is safer and lower cost than previous methods. The study determines that the main coloring compound is chromium oxide.

Germany’s policy and the diplomatic agenda of Romanian neutrality (1914-1916). The Prospect of a plan for an alliance with Sweden

open access: yesRevista Română pentru Studii Baltice şi Nordice, 2011
:In the summer of 1915, concerned about Italy's entry into the war in alliance with the Entente powers yet encouraged by the victories of its armies on the Eastern Front, the German diplomacy attempted to encourage Sweden and Romania to abandon their ...

Effective Molecular Alignment of Semiconducting Polymer and Its Application to Photopatterned Stretchable Transistors

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Technologies, EarlyView.
Excellent mobility is achieved in intrinsically stretchable, fine‐patterned organic thin‐film transistors (OTFTs) through well‐aligned molecular arrangements. Abstract Intrinsically stretchable organic transistors are promising solutions for realizing stretchable electronic systems, such as skin‐like wearables and next‐generation displays. Nevertheless,

The Cyber Alliance Game: How Alliances Influence Cyber-Warfare [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Cyber-warfare has become the norm in current ongoing military conflicts. Over the past decade, numerous examples have shown the extent to which nation-states become vulnerable if they do not focus on building their cyber capacities. Adding to the inherent complexity of cyberwar scenarios, a state is usually a member of one or more alliances.

Synergistic Visible Light Nanophotocatalysis and Asymmetric Organocatalysis for the Stereoselective α‐Alkylation of Aldehydes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
An unprecedent dual catalytic nanophotocatalytic and asymmetric organocatalytic system for the α‐functionalization of aldehydes is developed using carbon nanodots as photosensitizers. The optimized methodology yields the alkylated products with up to 94% yield and up to 98:2 e.r., evidencing the possible recycling of the nanocatalysts.

Integrating Visible‐Light Photocatalysis and Enzymes for the Stereoselective Synthesis of Alcohols and Amines

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, EarlyView.
The integration between visible‐light photocatalysis and biocatalysis has the potential to greatly improve modern organic synthesis by combining the production of valuable synthetic intermediates under mild photochemical conditions with the high degree of stereoselectivity reached by enzymes. The review collects the recent efforts in the photoenzymatic
