Platelet Lysate–Enriched Human Induced Pluripotent Stem Cell–Derived Chondrocyte Sheets for Bone Defect Repair via Endochondral Ossification

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Human iPSC‐derived hypertrophic chondrocyte sheet promotes bone regeneration. Abstract Bone defects are a major clinical challenge, primarily owing to the limited self‐healing capacity of bones and the high risk of complications associated with conventional treatment strategies.

CD57+ CD4 T Cells Underlie Belatacept‐Resistant Allograft Rejection

open access: yesAmerican Journal of Transplantation, 2016
Belatacept is a B7‐specific fusion protein used to prevent allograft rejection by blocking T cell costimulation. Generally efficacious, it fails to prevent acute rejection in a sizable minority of patients.

Mesenchymal Stem Cell‐Derived Apoptotic Micro‐Vesicles Repaired Sciatic Nerve Defect by Regulating Early Inflammatory Microenvironment and Promoting Angiogenesis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
HUCMSC‐Apo‐mvs enhance peripheral nerve repair by modulating the inflammatory microenvironment (IME), primarily through coordinated actions on three functional cells. They recruit macrophages and promote their polarization from pro‐inflammatory M1 to anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotypes, increasing secretion of IL‐10 and VEGF.

Short-term prognosis of recipients with pretransplant exposure to immune checkpoint inhibitors after liver transplantation for hepatocellular carcinoma: A retrospective cohort study

open access: yesLiver Research
Background and aims: Despite growing evidence linking pretransplant exposure to immune checkpoint inhibitors (ICIs) to increased allograft rejection risk after liver transplantation (LT), a lack of comparative studies to definitively establish the ...

CD20 expression in the transplanted kidney of patients with graft loss and transient allograft dysfunction [PDF]

open access: yesJournal of Medical Biochemistry, 2012
This study aimed to explore the relationship between the infiltration of CD20+ B cells and the survival time of a renal allograft and to investigate the role of infiltrated B cells in the rejection of the renal allograft.

Assay for free secretory component and methods for monitoring organ rejection [PDF]

open access: yes, 1996
Methods of monitoring and detecting the early onset of organ injury incident rejection of a organ rejection in an animal are disclosed. The described methods are capable of distinguishing organ rejection injury from other organ tissue damage in the ...

Antitumor activity of nivolumab on hemodialysis after renal allograft rejection

open access: yesJournal of Immunotherapy for Cancer, 2016
BackgroundNivolumab (Opdivo™) is a novel IgG4 subclass programmed death-1 (PD-1) inhibiting antibody that has demonstrated breakthrough-designation anti-tumor activity.

Triazine‐Trione Thermosets with High Processability for Scaffold Applications in Bone Tissue Engineering

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Novel photo‐clickable triazine‐trione thermosets can be shaped and cured under mild conditions, including room and physiological temperatures. These materials are biocompatible and support osteogenic differentiation of bone marrow–derived mesenchymal stem cells on their surface.

Allorecognition by T Lymphocytes and Allograft Rejection

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2016
Recognition of donor antigens by recipient T cells in secondary lymphoid organs initiates the adaptive inflammatory immune response leading to the rejection of allogeneic transplants.
